When this journal was initially set up, I didn't think I'd do much with it but I decided to post a detailed account of my lifestyle and tastes in furnishings, weather, entertainment. I'd love to hear from anyone who wants to share my interests. I'm outgoing, friendly, a private person but not a 'loner.' I like people - couldn't live without them. I enjoy the company of friends at the beach, restaurants, movies, shopping, day trips, walks, the occasional party or festival. Favourite past times are browsing in used book stores, garage sales and antique shops. Typical woman that I am, I love big sales of clothing and household items. I don't buy much, I don't have much, preferring a minimalist lifestyle (who can keep track of everything they own?). A real treat for me is finding a great bargain like the $150 set of solid wood square barstools that I paid $45 for and use as bedside tables. My taste in clothing is classic casual when I go out and total comfort at home (I have several hoodies, lots of t-shirts, and cosy fleecewear). I work out at the gym 2-3 times a week and walk at least 1-2 km every day, but I don't walk aimlessly - I have to have a place to go, even if it's to pay a bill or buy groceries. I enjoy the company of people who have a clean sense of humour, who respect other people's rights and beliefs. I am global in my personal relationships, having friends from different parts of the world. I enjoy learning about other cultures and belief systems because the more we understand each other, the more we will appreciate each other, and the better off the world will be. However, I am not interested in engaging in discussions about material aspirations, political or religious comparisons or criticisms. My life is peaceful and I intend to keep it that way.
